Envirofund.
Grants of up to $30,000 are available to community groups to carry out
projects aimed at conserving bio-diversity and sustainable resource use.
The
Sustainable
Energy Program (SEP). The Shell Foundation (International)
grants program, has the major objectives of reducing the environmental
impact of fossil fuel use, & overcoming poverty by increasing the
access of low-income communities & households in developing countries
to modern energy services.
Australian
Bird Environment Foundation Grants Scheme. The Foundation
provides grants up to $3,000 for education programs, conservation work
related to Australian native birds and their habitats, management &
research activities.
Grants
to Voluntary Environment & Heritage Organizations (GVEHO).
Funds for 2002 – 2003 were available to eligible organizations involved
in environmental & heritage work, to assist with administrative costs
as distinct from project or campaign costs.
Greenhouse
Partners Program. The Queensland Government E.P.A. in conjunction
with the Federal Government and Commerce Queensland’s Greenhouse
Challenge, has made funds available to industry/business.
Planet
Ark
National Tree
Day.
Planet Ark and Toyota made available
hi-tech Panasonic prizes to schools as part of Schools National Tree Day.
Queensland
Sustainable Energy Innovation Fund. (QSEIF).
Funds are available to business and the community for innovative projects
dealing with research, development, demonstration or commercialization
of energy efficiency or renewable energy.
Renewable
Energy Systems Rebate Scheme. The Queensland Government
offers rebates including up to $750 for domestic solar hot water and $7,500
for domestic grid connected Photovoltaic Power Systems.

Billiton
Community Support Programs.
Financial support by way of grants is provided to community organizations
that conduct programs and provide services in a number of areas, including
the environment. Environmental programs ought to focus on sustainable
development and the conservation of native fauna & flora.
Community
Garden Grants. National grants valued in total $55,000 are
available to community-based gardening projects as a means of encouraging
gardening and improving the environment.
Society
for Conservation Geographic Information Systems (SCGIS).
Provides assistance to conservation groups worldwide in using GIS through
communication, networking, scholarships & training.
Renewable
Energy Commercialisation Program. The Australian
Greenhouse Office provided grants from $50,000 to $1million for
projects leading to the commercialisation of innovative renewable energy
equipment, technologies, systems & processes.
Australian
Bush Heritage Fund.
The program is funded by donations which
are used to purchase land for environmental projects. The fund retains
title to the land and management.
Green
Corps. "Young Australians for the Environment"
is managed by the Australian Trust for Conservation Volunteers
(ATCV). It offers young people aged 17 – 20 years a full
time job for six months on community based environmental projects in rural
and remote areas.
Conservation
Grants to non-government organizations. Queensland Parks
and Wildlife Service and E.P.A. made available service-based grants with
an upper limit of $16,000.
Threatened
Species Network Community Grants. World Wide Fund
for Nature and the Natural Heritage Trust provide seed funding
to assist community groups that assist in the recovery of threatened species
& ecological communities. $30,000 is the grant upper limit.

City Council
Environmental Grants
Program makes available funding up to $5,000 to support local
environmental groups to undertake environmental projects.
Riverprize.
Thiess Services Pty. Ltd. Awards a $100,000 International
Riverprize & a National Riverprize valued at $25,000. The prizes recognize
achievements in river management.
"Spirit
of St. Louis" It cost $10,580 for Charles A. Lindberg
to build his plane, "Spirit of St. Louis", & each year The
Charles A. Lindberg & Anne Morrow Lindberg Foundation provides
grants of $10,580 for projects that provide a balance between the advance
of technology & the preservation of the natural/human environment. |
