Youth Arts
Mentoring Program The program supports young (18-25 years of age)
emerging artists/art workers in developing and establishing a professional
career.
The Australian Children’s
Television Foundation through the Independent Development Program
& Production Investment Program, provides funds for producers, script
writer & editors and consultants, for budget production.
"What’s On" Short Cut Film Festival offers
a first prize of $3,000. Short listed films are screened in Brisbane’s
Powerhouse Park.
The Cultural Heritage Projects Program
is a Commonwealth Government program that provides financial assistance
for the conservation of nationally significant cultural heritage places.
Telstra National
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award offers a first prize
of $40,000, plus $16,000 worth of other prizes
The
Cultural Heritage Incentive Program funded by the EPA, made available
grants of up to $10,000 to help local communities document, protect and
conserve Queensland’s cultural heritage.
"Foot in the Door"
The Dance Board offered grants of up to $20,000 to assist young &
emerging dance and movement artists’ to gain professional experience through
a working relationship with a company or group of their choice.
The Industry & Cultural
Development Program provides financial support for activities &
events that provide access to screen activities to the wider community.
National Arts and
Crafts Industry Support Strategy. Submissions to ATSIC Regional office
maybe made for funding of the administrative costs of community-based
art centres, including the development of a national database of visual
arts & crafts persons.
Army History
Research Grants. The Army History Unit called applications for financial
assistance to support research into the history of the Australian Army
Grants. Grants ranged to a maximum of $15,000
Australia Council.
Grants are provided in categories including dance, news media, arts, literature,
music and theatre. The Council is the Federal Government’s arts funding
& advisory board.
Community Heritage
Grants 2002. The National Library of Australia offered grants up to
$8,000 to assist in preserving documentary heritage collections. Community
organizations such as historical societies, public libraries & indigenous
and ethnic groups are eligible to apply.
Travel Grants
Scheme for Australian Music. Two funding programs support Australian
music professionals travelling nationally and internationally for specific
industry business purposes. Total funding of $200,000 was available through
support from the Australia Council.
Lord Mayor’s Performing
Arts Fellowships for Young Brisbane Artists. The program provides
career development opportunities for outstanding young Brisbane artists
or groups, aged between 17 and 30 years. Financial assistance includes
travel & study, tuition and a period of secondment.
Funding Awareness
Funding Program. The Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Commission
provides funds to promote to the wider community an understanding of and
respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
