"Weeding out the Cabbage Tree River ", is the theme for our major project that we will be undertaking throughout 2007 - 2008. Cabbage Tree River is infested with noxious weed. This is choking the river and killing off the native fish population. It is having a devastating effect on the local eco-system.

Property Details:

• 120 volunteers involved
• 150,000 man hours / 260 days
• 40km of rivers

Sponsorship Opportunities:

• Hovercraft and vessels
  • A minimum of two (2) hovercraft and four (4) 3.6m boats are urgently needed
• Base Camp
  • The Association will be establishing a temporary base camp near Cabbage Tree river. Our requirements are:
    • Electricity generated by photovoltaic cells.
    • Solar heating panels.
    • Four 18m x 10m tents.
